  1. I would like to use podcasts to help students hear themselves read aloud and speak. I think a blog is beneficial to keep parents informed. The podcasts will help my students hear how they read and if they are speakig properly. I think both of these will benefit my parents tremendously. Many of my parents are unable to come to school so this is an easy way to keep them informed.

  2. You can use the blog to give information to parents. You can also do lessons with the kids using both blogs and podcasts.
I think this is great for parent involvement. They will be able to access the blog for both information about Woodland and my class. I think the parents will appreciate being able to see their students' work and their daily activities.

  4. 1. I can use the blog as a journal and keep my parents and students up to date.
    2. It's a great way of integrating technology with the classroom. I can definitely use it in my ELA class.
    3. I think it will definitely improve and increase parental involvement. Parents will be able to keep track of the latest news as to what is going on in the class. They can gain volunteer hours by using the podcast.

  5. I would like to use a blog to inform parents, students and staff of the services that our Department can provide. I strongly believe that this will increase parental and student involvement as it will answer frequently asked questions.

  6. It would benefit children by allowing them to see their work and make corrections or add additions.

  7. I think that blogs would be a fantastic to keep parents informed of what happens in each week in the classroom. I also think that podcasts would be fun to share with parents so they can see what they are working on. My parents would be very appreciative of the blog and podcast experience.

Blogs and podcasts would help students move into technology. Invite family to be more involved with the school.

I think the blog/podcast would defintely improve involvement of parents. Again, the TAG parents would love for me to have a demonstrative meeting so that I can show them how it works!

    Thanks Kamisha! You are amazing.

  8. I do believe it would help parents. The communication alone would bring all the parents together and they could be more connected.

  9. 1. You could use blogs and podcasts to share projects and student's work with other students and parents. You can put upcoming events that are happening in your class and pictures of students participating in classroom events.
    2. I think this a very engaging program to motivate students to increase reading and writing skills. Students can communicate with each other and the teacher can provide feedback that students can react to.
    3. I think it will. A lot of parents are communicating more on computers than in person or on the phone. This is a great way to show student's achievements and upcoming events that are happening. Parent will be entertained and informed.

  10. The blog and podcasts would be a great exciting alternative to monthly newsletters. You could also attach links to educational websites for the kids to go to during student holidays. Parent volunteers could also post student activities that children could do at home. Parents could have their own "corner" to post information about community events that perhaps they would like to invite other classmates to attend, or post crafts/activities/recipes/ that students could do at home.

  11. Communicate with students, staff, parents
Post homework, info, etc as a source of improving performance and understanding

Having a source of communication for understanding--especially for students who do not have support at home.

Yes, because it is often hard to coordinate schedules for parents to be at school. Paper communication may get misplaced coming home in a bookbag. With blogs/podcasts, parents could cheeck for informationa at any time and stay informed from week to week.

  12. I would like to post children's work--written, pictures of school day activities, etc. I can put wish list on the blog.

First, let me say that this was one of the best workshops I've ever attended. I do plan to spend some time working on two blogs. One for my class and one for Woodland's afterschool performing arts offerings through F.A.A.M.E. ARTS.

Sight Word Power Point could help students improve reading levels.

I believe my parents would love it. There is only one child in my room who doesn't have the internet at home. My room mom is already communitcating to other parents through e-mail.

    Thanks a bunch!
